This picture of Deedles was taken when he was well into his 15th year.
A succession of wives wreaked the havoc on his face. Deedles had no finesse as a lover - his technique was to hit 'em around the head and tell 'em "you're going to LOVE this !"

Zande Malidadi Mosi (Uno) escaped and was run over 01 12 92

2 CCs (both with BOB) despite rescuing, rehoming & only 4 Ch shows entered. His new owners retired him - their main interest was Boxers, a different 'Group'

Mlembe Tatu JW died 26 07 2000 - aged 16 years and 2 months

Tatu, pictured here as a happy and relaxed fourteen year-old, had her own season ticket on the London Underground and traveled to work every day with her owner. She worked in the library of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and was recently featured at her computer console as a heat-winner in a 'Career Dog of the Year' photographic competition. Tatu was voted Academic Office Dog of the Year and her 'job description' was Lunch Disposal Expert at the RCVS -

NB: Having held all Breed Club Annual Stud Dog & Runner-up awards, we decided to make no further claims because we felt the awards were being devalued. Other possible Top Studs were barred from the competition. No claim is necessary for the Dog Press Awards. Recently, we have come to realise that it is not quality, but quantity (the number of shows attended) which controls which dogs win !

He has his own pages as he grew up

Whilst we are always happy to see our Basenjis in the show ring, to get them there is never one of our priorities. The contented pets, whose owners come back for a second Zande because they were well satisfied with their first, are just as good Ambassadors for our Affix.

We are also delighted with the reputation we have beyond these shores as witnessed by the increasing number of Zandes leaving them.
